Kip has a Cert III in Screen and Media and regularly works backstage for any events that he cannot perform in himself, expanding his knowledge of the inner workings of theatre. Kip also volunteered in 2022 at the Woodford folk festival as a sound and lighting technician and returned again in 2023 as a Stage Manager.
